I've been thinking about starting up a mailing list.  But seeing how
little traffic there is on this newsgroup is making me think twice.  Do
you think it would be worth the effort?  What kind of response would you
expect and what you call it?  Two ideas thrown out by myself and some
other Moby enthusiasts were...  TROPHY or MOBYISM.

Anybody have some suggestions?  Cheers!

Well all,

I think I'm going to start up the mailing list.  Who knows what'll
happen.  We'll see how it goes...

I'm still undecided as to what to call it so please keep throwing in
your suggestions.  E-mail me personally if you like.  I'm now stuck on
the titles; TROPHY, MOBYISM, LITTLE IDIOT and/or UNDERWATER.  Anyone
agree disagree?

If this is going to happen at all, you should expect to see it up and
running by the beginning of next month.  I'll be doing some heavy work
in the next week, so you will know the outcome quickly.  Also, if I do
decide to go ahead with this, I will be changing servers to avoid paying
the extra $120 a year that my current IP will demand.  So, as always, I
will keep everyone posted.  Cheers!

Most mailing list setups offer a daily digest option, so you get all
the day's traffic in one email message -- keeps your inbox nice and
tidy.  I subscribe to about six mailing lists, and my mailbox would be
unusable if I didn't have the digest option for each list.

These are great suggestions!  *big grin*  Ugh, now what am I going to
do... I have too many good choices.

Anyway, here's an update.  I'm in negotiations with my current ISP, so I
might not have to change servers due to expense.  With luck we are
looking at being up and running by the end of the month or the beginning
of September.  But, like I said, we are in negotiations so who knows.

The mailing list is set up and ready to go!  It is currently up and
running but I'm hoping to do some fine tuning before I publicly release
the subscribing information (right now I'm the only subscribed user --
hehe).  Expect this to be announced here and on my web pages within the
next week and that's a promise regardless of whether I'm ready or not.

As you can see, it will be title MOBILITY.  I wish I had more time to
consider more suggestions but I didn't.  This actually came sooner than
I expected and it caught me a little bit off guard.  Anyway, I'll get
back to everyone later this week with the info.  Until then, cheers!

I am absolutely new to being an administrator to a mailing list but, as
far as I can tell it has been properly set up to do both options.  I
agree, I do everything in digest so it won't interfere with my personal
email.  But in the case of MOBILITY, I am going to receive them
separately so I can handle things better.

Expect to have the info tomorrow or the next day (23rd or 24th of
October).
